In the crowds of Mong Kok near the site, it is easy to spot elderly traveling around. However, statistics from HKCSD, census 2011, showed Mong Kok consist of only 14.8% of elderly in the district with median age of 42. Nevertheless, in a more macro view of Yau Tsim Mong the elderly house-hold is reaching 36% of the population. Hence, aging population is a threat that need high consideration. There is a projection data by the government of almost a 7% of rise in elderly aged 65 or above from 2012 to 2041. The needs and requirements of elderly service are demanding. Another strong concern is added to the high poor household with the median age of 52 in Yau Tsim Mong. A community health center serving the elderly is therefore proposed.
